Even with his furniture creations, Panton had made it his goal to design more than just furnishings. What came from Verner Panton's pen always went beyond what was previously known. His creations were not only intended to complement interior design, but to function as style-setting, space-occupying, central sculptures. The international enthusiasm that the Moon pendant light enjoys to this day proves that Panton made a statement with his first lighting design. Ten interleaved, white-painted aluminum slats form the body of this cleverly designed pendant light. The slats, which increase in diameter from the inside to the outside, are movable and can be rotated individually on top of each other. The fascination of this pendant lamp, as with numerous other designs by Verner Panton, is to be sought in the detail. Once brought into shape, the slats completely hide the centrally located illuminant, but reflect the incident light through the gaps to the outside, creating an unprecedented, perfectly glare-free play of light that will completely change the atmosphere in the room.Because the position of the individual slats is variable, the Moon pendant lamp allows a variety of lighting design. Like the moon, which constantly changes its shape in the night sky, Verner Panton's luminaire presents itself as a multifaceted design object. The new edition of the Moon pendant lamp is provided with a signature of Verner Panton, which is located on the innermost of the ten slats.
