One of the first lights designed by Verner Panton was the Moon pendant light, with which the design icon created a completely new design style. Even with his furniture creations, Panton had set himself the goal of designing more than just furnishings. Verner Panton's designs always went beyond the boundaries of what was previously known. His creations were not only intended to complement interior design, but also to serve as style-defining, space-filling and central sculptures. The international enthusiasm that the Moon pendant light continues to enjoy today proves that Panton made a statement with his first lighting design.

Ten interlocking, white-lacquered aluminium slats form the body of this sophisticated pendant light. The slats, which increase in diameter from the inside out, are movable and can be rotated individually on top of each other. As with many of Verner Panton's other designs, the fascination of this pendant light lies in the details. Once shaped, the slats completely cover the central bulb, but reflect the incoming light through the gaps to the outside, creating an unprecedented, perfectly glare-free play of light that will completely transform the atmosphere in the room.

As the position of the individual slats is variable, the Moon pendant light allows for a wide range of lighting designs. Like the moon, which constantly changes its shape in the night sky, Verner Panton's light is also a multifaceted design object. The new edition of the Moon pendant light bears Verner Panton's signature on the innermost of the ten slats.
