The trademark feature of VERPAN's Fun series of lights is the iridescent chains of mother-of-pearl discs that cascade down from the metal rings in varying lengths. The Fun 10DM pendant light has four metal rings that form the Basis of this designer piece and provide the necessary space for the countless shell discs linked together by small stainless steel rings. Fascinating colour nuances and the interplay of the iridescent mother-of-pearl surfaces with the light draw the viewer's attention to the Fun 10DM, at the latest when the light is switched on. And why this pendant light is a real gem, not only in visual but also in acoustic terms, becomes clear when a slight breeze strips the shell chains. Like a wind chime, the harmonious, soft sounds of the gently moving shell discs fill the room.

The creations of Danish designer and architect Verner Panton stand out for their originality and unusual designs. Panton revolutionised the international world of furniture design with his avant-garde designs, particularly in the 1960s and 1970s. Seamless plastic and the interplay of transparency became his central design elements. In 1964, while searching for a material that would amaze the viewer in combination with light, the iridescent biomineral mother-of-pearl caught the Dane's interest. Inspired by this, he designed a series of lights, which is characterised by Panton's play with transparency on the one hand and the fascinating properties of mother-of-pearl on the other.
