Featuring organic LEDs – the high-quality OMLED OLED f5 floor lamp

The OMLED One series of lights is the world’s first series of lights to be manufactured using cutting-edge OLEDs as bulbs. This ‘organic light-emitting diode’ combines many advantages. They consist of thin layers of semiconducting organic materials sandwiched between two electrically conductive layers, which emit light as long as an electric current flows. The OLEDs emit UV- and IR-free light and create a cosy atmosphere in the room; they emit diffuse light that produces a very pleasant lighting effect and is completely glare-free.

For the production of the OMLED One light range, the manufacturer utilises a completely novel technology. With this patented technique, the light’s housing serves simultaneously as both a circuit board and a control element made of glass. Circuit tracks, contacts, electronic components and a dimmable circuit are applied directly onto the high-quality glass, thereby eliminating the need for a conventional plastic circuit board and significantly reducing the light’s overall height. The glass housing serves as both a circuit board and a heat sink. The electronic components have been arranged within the five squares on the upper pane, creating uniform illumination across the surface.

All components of this OMLED ONE f5 floor lamp were manufactured in Germany.
