PH 5 300 hanging light with copper and white lampshade
In 1958, the PH 5 500 – the ‘big sister’, so to speak, of the PH 5 300 – caused a sensation for the first time. A light featuring a multi-shade system made of metal, which enables completely glare-free light distribution. Created by the Danish designer Poul Henningsen, who worked with the manufacturer Louis Poulsen from 1925 until his death in 1967 and laid the foundations for the lighting theory still used there today.
In 2017, Louis Poulsen launched the PH 5 300, a counterpart to the PH 5 500 that is smaller in diameter but otherwise identical in construction; to mark its 60th anniversary, it now features a new look in copper and white, which lends the light a particularly warm ambience as the reflective copper surfaces mirror the surroundings.
A pendant light that is particularly effective for creating atmospheric table lighting.
It should be noted that the copper surface is untreated and will develop a patina over time, a process that may already have begun at the factory.
