The beautifully designed PH 4/3 pendant light – 40 cm in diameter
Even when switched off, the PH 4/3 pendant light looks very decorative thanks to its attractive triple shade; however, as soon as the light is switched on, the true beauty of this tried-and-tested yet ever-fresh light source is revealed.
The timelessness of the design gives no hint that the triple-shade design has been around since 1925/26, when Poul Henningsen, a Danish designer, created this shade variant in his quest to produce a light with completely glare-free light distribution. Just like the lampshades of that era, the lampshade of the PH 4/3 pendant light is also made of metal – in this case, drawn, white-lacquered aluminium.
The light is directed mainly downwards, illuminating the surroundings – for example, in the dining area – in a very even and cosy manner.
