Adjustable Andes wall light with two bamboo arms and a linen lampshade

The Andes wall light features two slender bamboo arms, each connected to the other by joints. The delicate black wing screws are understated yet add a playful touch. They harmonise with the equally black textile cable and ensure that the practical little switch on the wall mount blends in unobtrusively. The wall mount itself is also made of bamboo and impresses with a natural wood grain that continues along the arms. Bamboo is considered a highly sustainable material, as it can be cut repeatedly and regrows very quickly; it is also particularly sturdy.

At the end of the flexibly adjustable arms hangs a round, cylindrical lampshade, presented entirely in white, which perfectly complements the natural, pleasant colour scheme. This lampshade, made from eco-linen, impresses with its glare-free light effect, which is created by the nature of the material. Linen is a time-honoured material that requires less water and fewer chemicals to cultivate than cotton and is considered significantly stronger. Its attractive appearance, combined with the direct downward light and the indirect light radiating all around, makes Andes a stylish addition next to the sofa, next to a reading chair or even next to the bed.

This lighting collection was designed by the Dutch manufacturer IT'S ABOUT ROMI through its sustainable brand Good & Mojo. As well as making a conscious use of sustainable materials, they support the WakaWaka Foundation, which raises funds to provide solar products to families in need. They have also been collaborating since 2019 with Eden Reforestation Projects, whose mission is to plant trees in Nepal, Madagascar, Haiti, Indonesia, Mozambique and Kenya, with the aim of reforestation and reducing extreme poverty by employing local villagers. Some of these villagers use their traditional craftsmanship to create the unique lights.
