Oyster – extravagant table lamp by designer Jette Scheib
The most striking feature of the Oyster table lamp is probably its lampshade, which consists of two metal rings woven with cotton threads. In the centre is an opaque disc that protrudes slightly and conceals the bulb. The disc is not only decorative, but also ensures that the light from the bulb does not dazzle. The design of the table lamp is reminiscent of an oyster, hence the name Oyster. The bulb represents the pearl inside the oyster.
The Oyster series of lights was designed by Jette Scheib, a designer who comes from Germany and lives in Barcelona. Scheib seeks inspiration in her surroundings, in people and their behaviour towards each other, and in their interaction with objects. She designs functional lights with personality.
